Advancing Rights for Women & the Planet

Rights 4 Her Uganda is an ecofeminist, queer women-led organization advancing gender justice, environmental and climate resilience, and human rights in Uganda through rights-based and community-driven approaches.

Our Four Thematic Areas

Our work is organised around four interconnected pillars that address the root causes of inequality, environmental harm, and injustice.

01
🌿

Ecofeminism, Climate Justice and Environmental Security

We advance ecofeminist approaches that recognize the deep interconnections between gender inequality, environmental degradation, and climate injustice. Our work promotes environmental security by addressing the disproportionate impact of climate change on women, particularly in vulnerable and underserved communities.

Human Rights and Policy Advocacy

We advocate for the protection and promotion of human rights, with a focus on gender justice, and the rights of women and marginalized communities. Through evidence-based advocacy and engagement with policy processes, we work to influence inclusive, equitable, and rights-respecting systems.

Holistic Security, Healing and Protection

We promote holistic security that goes beyond physical safety to include emotional, psychosocial, economic, and environmental wellbeing. We provide survivor-centered support, safe spaces, healing processes, and protection mechanisms for survivors of gender-based violence and structural harm.

Feminist Leadership, Voice and Agency

We strengthen feminist leadership and amplify the voices of Structurally silenced women. Through capacity building, movement building, and community organizing, we support communities to claim agency, influence decision-making, and lead transformative change.
